To kick off the festivities, we will host a pizza night in Simon's Bar, Emily Moon. Come along to get to know each other, soak up the beautiful surroundings and set the tone for a wonderful weekend ahead. Dress code: summery smart-casual i.e. sundresses, shorts or jeans & a nice top.

Welcome Drinks
Guests are welcome to arrive at Emily Moon River Lodge from 2:30pm and enjoy a welcome drink ahead of the ceremony. Please be seated by 3:15pm

We will exchange vows overlooking the breathtaking Bitou on the Emily Moon's Riverdeck. Remember your sunnies & sunblock!
Canapés & Photos
We've curated a gorgeous selection of canapés to be enjoyed while taking in the scenery. This is also the chance to get those golden hour photos in.
Reception
The party starts! Dinner, drinks, and dancing. There will be a bar tab for beers, ciders, wine and selected liquor. A cash bar will be available. A shuttle will be available to lift guests back to central Plettenberg Bay from 11pm.

For those still around and wanting to extend the fun, we will be having a relaxed lunch at Enrico Ristorante followed by a fierce game of Waboba on the beach, and hopefully a white whale sighting (iykyk)

Our Story
Joburg Day 2015
Many of you will know us as high-school sweethearts. What you might not know is that we went to the same primary school. Which means we actually met when we were 6! Not that we ever spoke (because, cooties)
At 14, Keegs slid into Katie's Facebook DMs to send a harmless Happy Birthday message. Nothing to take note of. At 16, we ran into each other at a music festival and numbers were exchanged. Keegs successfully made it out of the DMs. It wasn't long after that we had our first date. (We watched The Hobbit, so I guess you could say Kate was keen).
By 17, we were official.
Needless to say, neither of us are the same people we were at 17. We'll always be grateful for giving each other space to change & grow. To find ourselves within and outside our relationship. And it truly has been one of the most beautiful things to get to know different versions of each other, and fall in love with them again and again.
The latest version, is of course the the "living in Ireland" version. We've swapped out the warm Mozambican sea with the baltic Irish ocean. We've spent weekends (and many Mondays!) going to gigs, pubs, finding sanity through saunas, cold plunges, & scenic half marathons. Not to mention, raising the two most spoilt cats the world has ever known.
If you ask Katie about Keegs she will say he is the calm in every storm, the quickest to make her laugh, and the person who reminds her never to take life too seriously.
If you ask Keegs about Katie, he'll say she's infectiously charasmatic with an ability to light up every room and brimming with love in a world where kindness is hard to come by.

We want our guests looking and feeling their best and envision a "garden party elegance" aesthetic. The ceremony & canapes will be outdoors, hopefully in the warm autumnal sun. The reception will take place in an airy indoor room.
For ladies: midi or maxi dresses, skirts or suits, flowy & fun sihlouettes. Patterns, textures, colours encouraged. No white. Please be mindful that very light satin dresses can photograph white.
For men: suit or chinos, light fabrics, linen, button down shirt, blazer.
Ties optional. No jeans.

Our wedding party and close family will be staying at Emily Moon River Lodge. We kindly ask all other guests to arrange their own accommodation.
Note that our wedding is over a South African long weekend, so we suggest booking sooner rather than later. Some options here:
Getting Around
Getting Here
The easiest is to fly into George Airport which is about 100 km away from Plettenberg Bay. From there, you can hire a car or take a shuttle to get to your accommodation.
If you're driving, Plett is accessible anywhere in South Africa using the N2 highway. It takes about 6 hours to drive from Cape Town and 2.5 hours from Port Elizabeth - both beautiful road trips. From Johannesburg, you're looking at about 13.5 hours driving time.
Getting Around by Car
Driving in Plett is straightforward. Most locations are within a 10-15 minute drive.
Parking at Emily Moon is plentiful and secure. However, if you're planning to drink, please Uber or shuttle to Emily Moon. We have a complimentary shuttle to take you home.
If you're planning on extending your trip along the Garden Route, we'd highly recommend hiring a car for your stay.

I truly couldn't imagine my life without Lau. She has made it so much brighter & fuller in every way possible. One of my favourite chapters was living together in varsity back in 2019. I got to be aunty to her beloved bunnies, we sang opera covers of Sia in harmony, she was a guinea pig for all my campus yoga classes, and we perfected Jamie Oliver's 15-minute lentil dahl. I watched her chase her dream of being a vet, while she watched me figure out who I wanted to become. It means the world to have her by my side for this special journey.

Don & I have rarely lived in the same city as each other, but that has never taken away from our special bond. For starters, I feel like I can be my weirdest, silliest self with her. We've shared so many belly laughs together (even on the brink of drowning - sorry about that, Don!). And, as a kid, visiting her in Durban was always the best type of holiday - feasting on her delicious treats, going to the beach, cinema, playing PlayStation & trying to keep up with her Comrades training.

The big dog himself, mr worldwide, MC extraordinaire, Craig. He's been a massive grounding presence throughout my life, and also bought a wonderful sense of adventure to my childhood. I'll never forget our ski trips together - especially being farted on in enclosed ski lifts (we'll call it character development!)
As for Shel, it feels wrong to even refer to her as 'in-law'. She's been in my life since I was 4, so she is practically blood. And she's been there for me through some of the hardest chapters. A walk, cry, chat, yoga class, coffee, advice or just a hug - she always knows how to set things right.

To know Phumi is to know sunshine. He will always go the extra mile to make anyone feel seen and understood. But if he loves you, he will drag you. So when he teased me about my Psychology lecture outfits, I knew we were gonna be friends. From studying together at GIBS, to starting our careers at the same consulting firm together, to making an escape to the same ad agency - we've been through a lot together! I hate that we can't talk nonsense & log it to our timesheets anymore, but I love that a deep and enduring friendship has come from it all.

When I first moved into res at TuksVillage, Liv instantly became one of my most adored friends. To this day, some of the best nights of my life were spent partying together in Hatfield. I still remember suffering through full days of lectures on a Friday, surviving on Energade and slap chips - iconic. Some may say that my first year BSc was a waste (sorry, parents!), but it brought me to one of the most compassionate, fun, and supportive friends in the world.

Holly has an absolute heart of gold, and cares so deeply about her people, always making time to check-in. Our Delta Park walks look a little different these days - I'm over the phone in Sutton. But I'm forever grateful that no matter where in the world I am, Holly is by my side. What started as a messy night unpacking our life stories until 4am has resulted in one of my most beautiful friendships.
